During the period of colour prohibition, Canadian TV networks were required to delete the colour burst signal used to trigger and synchronize colour reception from colour shows received from the U.S. networks. At the moment, the reception/viewing of satellite and TV programmes constitutes 2/3 of all TV reception and 86% of households with TV have subscribed to satellite and cable TV services.
